You can tell Jessica Alba's not from round here: she accessorised her azure blue silk strapless gown with a deep Californian tan. And Gerard Butler. Sure, it was a bit west coast for a dreary, rainy night in February but when it looks this good, nobody minds.

Another hit for Tom Ford, dark beauty Eva Green wore black ruched chiffon with a long fishtailed skirt ? one of the evening's many ultra-luxurious but slimline silhouettes and a welcome break from the usual crinolines creations. More Elvira than Disney princess, it's a definite thumbs-up.
